Netanyahu rejects a roadmap Israel is already performing, and nobody in Washington minds.
Netanyahu turned the Board of Peace's 15-point roadmap down yesterday, twice. To which a US official answered that Washington has no problem with that — as long as Israel goes on restraining its attacks in Gaza. Of course, it has been restraining them since the beginning — to say nothing of the further restraint the past week or so. Tehran has put an end to the Gaza and Lebanon operations on its list of conditions for reopening Hormuz. Beirut won't come to the September round until the earthworks stop. Three negotiations, no Israelis in any of the rooms. And all three impact Israel.

Israel's own operations have become what other people trade with. Washington will live with the rejection while the strikes stay stopped, Tehran wrote an end to the Gaza and Lebanon operations into its conditions for reopening Hormuz, and Beirut wants the bulldozers off the ridge before it names a September date. Enforcement is the one thing Israel is still doing on its own, and it is what all three of them want it to stop.
